Description – Eliminate inaccurate and slow manual visual inspections for a fraction of the price of an AOI machine. The SimmScope SOI is a powerful user-friendly bench top PCBA inspection system utilizing a high-resolution live camera mounted on an automated X-Y positioning system. The SimmScope SOI significantly increases the accuracy and speed of manual visual inspections and can be used as an alternative to costly and more complex AOI systems. Each component or region of interest (ROI) is evaluated by the operator by comparing a live image to a known-good stored image. The system can also be used as an offline programming tool to create X-Y lists which can be imported by various other types of machines.

• The system can be manually programmed or can be quickly programmed using the powerful import functions to import from CAD, Gerber data, Pick & Place files, X-Y-Theta text data, and Bill of Materials.
• During inspection, the ROIs are stepped through one at a time, under operator control.
• Areas around the ROI are masked off causing the inspector to focus only on the ROI.
• The live 1280 x 1024 pixel image can be digitally zoomed to enlarge the ROI.
• Post inspection report generation provides traceability.

• 1.3 MP camera.  Manually adjustable magnification of 10x to 90x. Lighting is 8 white LEDs.
• Polarizing on camera can be switched on/off or adjusted for full or half polarization.
• Working distance is adjustable between approximately 2" to 8" above the board.
• At 3.25" above board, the magnification is 40x with a field of view of .4" and .0003" per pixel.
• 1At 2": 90x, FOV 0.17", .0001" per pixel.  At 8": 10x, FOV 1", .0008" per pixel.
